Mountain Retreat / Ski Cottage
The Andes Mountains, 2015
Andes Ski Cottage is conceived as a small refuge within the vastness of the mountain landscape.
The project explores the idea of shelter as a precise and intimate architectural gesture: a warm interior protected from snow, wind and altitude, while remaining deeply connected to the scale and silence of the Andes.
Rather than competing with the landscape, the cottage settles into it. Its compact form, material presence and relationship with the slope create a quiet architecture of protection, pause and contemplation.
Between retreat, lookout and domestic refuge, Andes Ski Cottage imagines inhabiting the mountain as an act of intimacy with the territory.
