BUENOS AIRES FICTIONS
Transborder Hyperlinks. Research / Art / Urban Cartography Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2020–2021
Buenos Aires Fictions is a research project that explores the borders of the city not as fixed lines, but as thick, unstable and contested territories.
Rather than understanding the border as an enclosure or precise limit, the project focuses on the intermediate condition between adjacent urban realities: the spaces in-between, where geography, infrastructure, inequality, memory and imagination overlap.
Through collages, hand drawings and speculative cartographies, the research generates a series of border concepts for Buenos Aires and the Pampa territory. These fictional operations examine the city from historical, urban, environmental, cultural, ideological and poetic perspectives.
The project proposes the border as an active interface: a space capable of revealing conflict, producing public situations and opening new ways of thinking about the contemporary metropolis.
