    Urban Regeneration and Tactical Urbanism Strategy
    1st Prize — National Competition

    Public space is what defines the existence of the city.

    ECO-Resistencia proposes a new environmental and social infrastructure for Resistencia, Chaco: a system of macroblocks, micro-forests, wetlands, bike lanes and shaded pedestrian corridors designed to regenerate the urban fabric from within.

    The project reimagines the city’s streets as ecological and civic spaces, transforming areas previously dominated by cars and motorcycles into places for water, vegetation, mobility and public life.

    Organised through 4 × 4, 4 × 3 and 3 × 3 macroblocks, the strategy reduces traffic impact, introduces a 2-metre bike lane network and creates new green corridors connected to existing plazas, public facilities and everyday neighbourhood life.

    Rather than treating landscape as decoration, ECO-Resistencia uses nature as urban infrastructure: bringing fragments of the wetlands back into the city to absorb water, create shade, improve environmental quality and restore a more balanced relationship between territory and community.

    The result is a tactical and scalable model for a city where streets are once again filled with shade, water, movement and life.

    Competition Strategy

    The City Centre grid is sadly built above floodable areas from the wetlands



    The city floods every year during the rainy season due to a lack of environmental planning.


    In addition, the streets are full of cars and motorcycles using the public space for parking

    What if we brought part of the wetlands back into the city?


    The concept is to bring a piece of the surrounding wetlands back to the urban grain


    Micro-forests are introduced as fragments of the natural territory, replacing areas previously occupied by parked cars and motorcycles.
