Fictional Landscape
Hilltop Village imagines a citadel suspended between earth and sky: an ancient settlement placed at the top of a hill, where architecture becomes wall, path, shelter and lookout.
Inspired by the memory of medieval Italian hill towns, the village is conceived as a compact body of stone, towers, courtyards and narrow passages. Its form grows from the terrain, following the logic of defence, gravity and collective life. Houses appear as fragments of a larger fortress, gathered around the slow ascent towards the summit.
The project explores the hill as a condition of distance and protection. From below, the village appears almost inaccessible — a silhouette carved against the horizon. From within, it becomes a labyrinth of thresholds, stairs, shadows and openings, where every path leads to another view of the landscape.
Between ruin, refuge and imagined memory, Hilltop Village proposes an architecture of permanence: a small world built to resist time, wind and disappearance.
