    MOON REEF

    MOON REEF
    Red Sea, Egypt
    2025–2026
Work in progress / Under development

Moon Reef imagines a retreat landscape between the moon and the Red Sea.

Set within the coastal territory of Marsa Alam, the project explores the encounter between water, silence and a mineral landscape of reddish hills that seem to belong to another planet. The site becomes a place of remoteness and contemplation, where the desert descends towards the reef and the horizon appears almost lunar.

The masterplan is conceived as a sequence of quiet escapes: places of pause, shade, immersion and retreat arranged along the coast. Architecture is held within the vastness of the landscape, allowing water, rock, light and distance to define the experience.

The reef becomes a living threshold between desert and sea, while the hills give the project its otherworldly presence. Moon Reef proposes a coastal condition shaped by stillness, reflection and the strange beauty of inhabiting a territory that feels suspended between Earth, Mars and the moon.
