Urban Proposal / Public Competition

The proposal seeks to recompose the historical axis of Buenos Aires through an urban intervention that reconnects the city with its foundational landscape.
From the National Congress and Casa Rosada to the Ecological Reserve and the Río de la Plata, the project understands the axis not only as a line of movement, but as a civic structure of memory, representation and public life.
At the central intersection, a new urban element — The City Hall — formalises the continuity of public space along the axis. Conceived as both building and urban threshold, it articulates the relationship between the historical district, the waterfront and the contemporary city.
The proposal reactivates Buenos Aires’ connection with the river, recovering the symbolic condition of the area where the city’s main port once stood during the colonial period. In doing so, the project transforms the historical axis into a living public infrastructure: a sequence where memory, landscape and civic life meet again.
