REVERDECER EL SUR
REVERDECER EL SUR
Ecological District / Landscape Urbanism
Bogotá, Colombia, 2021
Reverdecer el Sur proposes a strategy of urban reconciliation with the south of Bogotá.
Located on the site of a former quarry used for cement production, along the banks of the Tunjuelo River, the project transforms a territory of extraction into a new ecological district: a metropolitan landscape where river, city and public life are brought back together.
At the heart of the proposal, the Tunjuelo River is reintegrated into the urban experience. Its edges become accessible, active and ecological, turning the river into a public landscape and a new green lung for the city.
The project creates a mixed-use centrality capable of anchoring urban life through housing, landscape, mobility, services and public space. What was once a productive scar in the territory becomes a place of repair, encounter and environmental continuity.
Reverdecer el Sur imagines the city as a living process of regeneration: a landscape where infrastructure, ecology and community define a new relationship with the southern territory.
