Material Research / Kinetic Tectonic Sculpture

Threshold is a kinetic tectonic sculpture conceived as an operable panel from a fictional ancient city hidden in the desert.
The piece imagines an excavated bronze artifact: a lost architectural fragment discovered by archaeologists, partially preserved, partially mysterious. Its purpose is never fully revealed. It could be a façade, a gate, a ritual mechanism or the remaining evidence of a passage into another dimension.
Through arches, slats, cavities and moving fragments, the object behaves as a threshold in both physical and symbolic terms. It opens, closes, filters and reveals, suggesting that crossing is not only a spatial action, but also a transformation of perception.
Its weathered bronze materiality carries the weight of time. Oxidation, dust, stains and mineral traces give the surface the presence of something recovered rather than produced — an artifact whose meaning must be reconstructed through fragments.
Between ruin, mechanism and portal, Threshold explores architecture as a device of transition: a surface where matter, shadow and movement open the possibility of another world.
